Announcement to Our DAX Customers

Dear DAX Customer:

In March 2020 at the beginning of the COVID Pandemic, we immediately recognized the unique risk dental professionals faced due to working in the dental aerosol environment. We began an engineering challenge to be able to control the aerosols and at the same time remove the very small virus particles. I am proud to say we met that goal.

However, as time progressed, we also recognized the real story was not just the pandemic, but the routine daily aerosol exposure creating a risk for Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis, a deadly disease. We appreciate your understanding of disease risks in dentistry and your commitment to your health and those around you by purchasing the DAX Extra-oral vacuum.

Sadly, despite our best efforts, there is waning interest in this technology. The leadership team of Dental Safety First (mfg. of DAX units) has made the difficult decision to close normal operations as of December 31, 2022. We have a few remaining units for sale and replacement filters. We will also notify you for a direct source for replacement filters so that you may continue to protect yourself with best safety practices going forward. We do not want to abandon our customers and will remain available for future service-related issues to the extent it is possible.

Again, we appreciate your being a customer and your commitment to a healthy work environment.

Sincerely,

V. Kim Kutsch, DMD.

Dr. V. Kim Kutsch, DMD

My signature Dental Aerosol Extractor (DAX) can be a major part of your PPE program. It can create a safer environment for you, your staff, and patients, defending from viruses (COVID 19), bacteria, and other pollutants.

Below is a personal letter to my esteemed colleagues.

Dr. V. Kim Kutsch, DDS.

Why DAX?

Not just another HEPA vacuum, DAX was designed from the inside out utilizing NASA science to capture virus-sized particles.

Dentists & Patients are Facing Risks

Dental Procedures Create Biologically Contaminated Aerosols

M

Contaminated Air

Dental procedures contaminate the air with serious pathogens. These present a real and present danger for dentists, dental hygienists and dental assistants.

M

Increased Exposure

Current protocols including PPE, high volume evacuation, routine rubber dam use and increased ventilation is not enough as evidence shows rubber dams actually increase the aerosol exposure.

M

Not Enough PPE

The presence of respiratory transmitted viral diseases like SARS, MERS, or now COVID19, are revealing deficient protocols for PPE and disinfection.

Our Mission Is to Provide Dentists with Tools to Keep Patients and Staff Safer

Dentistry is a uniquely risky profession for multiple reasons, and current protections are not enough. New, chairside extra-oral vacuum HEPA filters can promote safety in dental offices.

What does a DAX unit mean for your practice?

N

Cleaner, Safer Operatory

DAX efficiently removes the aerosol air/water particles along with viruses, bacteria, enamel dust, and many other particles and/or gas pollutants.

N

Confident Patients

Knowing your office is safer from infectious diseases and pollutants will ensure your patients’ confidence in your ability to provide quality care.

N

NASA-Based Optimized System

DAX’s vacuum was optimized with a high air speed through the nozzle to catch pollutants and a much slower air rate through the HEPA filter to capture microscopic viruses.

N

Easy to Position Hose/Funnel

DAX has a funnel with attached clear shield mounted on a semi-rigid hose that is easily positioned by the dental professional, will stay in place during procedures, and allows for unobstructed access to the operating field.

N

Carbon Filter for Gases & Odors

DAX has a carbon filter that also absorbs gases, odors and pollutants. This carbon filter provides for an enhanced air purfication program.

N

HEPA Filter for Particles

DAX’s HEPA air filter will effectively trap particles such as viruses, bacteria, fungus, dust, and other pollutants from the largest 100 microns down to as small as 0.01-microns to capture the small viruses.

“Finally… An answer to my greatest practice fear! Having grown up with compromised lung function, I have worried about being exposed to a fierce viral load, from an unsuspecting Covid-positive patient. Thanks to my dear friend Dr. Kim Kustch, we now have a dedicated extra-oral vacuum.

I can safely return to prepping teeth with confidence and enjoyment. Not so incidentally, my clinical team members and patients are equally grateful for this awesome new level of protection.

Thank you again Kim, for bringing DAX to the market quickly and affordably!”
